Too good a sunrise this morning, not to interupt Arran’s nappy change for a snap out the window. A stunning light show to get a young boy dressed to.

Denbigh, the local town to here, has an annual barrel rolling competion. I get the impression it’s over all over pretty quicky once the farm boys get rolling, so they also put a rather fine vintage tractor show on to pad out the event a little. Arran had never seen a ‘real’ vintage John Deere before.

It feels like a dream being able to walk on snowcovered hills five minutes drive from home.

Some crazy cold weather marks the start of our first winter in the country. Snow tyres are on next day delivery order!

Amazing sight from the window this afternoon. A low mist formed in the base of the valley, and slowly filled it, bottom up. This is taken midway through, 10 minutes later the tree was covered.

This was taken in the field to the left of the house, in the minutes before the fog lifted completely to a sunny day.
